Think, Design, Make 

A creative workshop to get inspired before the school year begins. 

 

August 6-8, 2025 | This workshop provides:

 

Wednesday, August 6 | 9am - 12pm

David Robinson, Executive Director, Scot Akerman MakerSpace.

An Introduction to Tulane's MakerSpace which has been described as a new amalgam of art, craft, and technology. By providing tools, assistance, and ideas, the MakerSpace serves all makers, and potential makers, in the Tulane Community with an inclusive space designed for imagination and innovation.

 

Wednesday, August 6 | 1pm - 3pm 

Jenny Mercein, Associate Professor, Theatre

Unlocking Your Creative Side - In this interactive workshop, participants will practice being vulnerable in front of their peers, explore where their beliefs around creativity come from, and cultivate a sense of possibility around creative pursuits. This will be achieved through games, guided meditation, and writing exercises.

 


 

Thursday, August 7 | 9am - 1pm 

1st MakerSpace Demo/Training - 2D design for MakerSpace fun: Let’s engrave and cut you a luggage tag.

2nd MakerSpace Demo/Training - 3d design for MakerSpace fun: Let’s 3D print your very own jewel.

 



Friday, August 8 | 9am - 1pm

Wrap-up / Brainstorm / Complete Work in the MakerSpace

 


Wednesday, August 6 attendance is mandatory to participate on Thursday and Friday.
Lunch is provided each day at 12pm.
