Entrepreneurial-Minded Learning Pedagogy Workshop

Monday, December 9 | 8:30 - 3pm

Have you ever struggled to communicate to your students the real-world value of the scientific or engineering concepts you teach in class? Tulane University, CELT, and the Kern Family Foundation invite you to learn about infusing entrepreneurially minded learning (EML) pedagogy at our first annual Crescendo of EML half-day event.

Agenda:

Breakfast and Networking: 8:30am – 10:00 am

  • We’ll start our day with the most important meal of the day – a light breakfast with a side order of networking.

AI and EML for the Classroom: 10:00 am-11:30 am

  • An interactive session featuring unique perspectives, ideas, and methodology for why EM is so transformative for students, classrooms, and faculty.

Your EM Resonance and Lunch: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm

  • Universities across the country have made an institutional commitment to EM. But what exactly is it? And, more interestingly, what is your personal EM resonance? Identify your own EM resonance while we enjoy lunch.

The Curious Power of Curiosity: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

  • Let’s take a deep dive into the neuroscience of curiosity. Discover what makes a good, curious question, embark on experiential journeys into curiosity, and see how a few simple techniques can give us more control over student engagement than we realize. Reserved for emerging educators, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows interested in pursuing their passion as educators.

Faculty and graduate students from area universities are welcome!
