How To's for Faculty and Instructors
The Instructional Accessibility Network is an exciting initiative at Tulane University aimed at continuously enhancing accessibility and equity across all learning experiences. This collaborative community brings together faculty, staff, and students who are committed to the principles of universal design for learning (UDL) and proactively dismantling barriers to academic success.
Through regular meetings, the network provides a space for members to:
Share insights, challenges, and effective practices around making courses, materials, and instruction more accessible
Explore new accessibility tools, technologies, and teaching strategies to implement UDL principles
Troubleshoot barriers and brainstorm solutions to enhance inclusion for students with diverse needs
Build cross-departmental connections and collective capacity for accessibility leadership
The network is an extension of Tulane's Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Academy, further expanding professional development, resource-sharing, and community-building efforts to mainstream accessibility as a core component of excellent teaching and learning.
Ultimately, the Instructional Accessibility Network aims to empower all educators to be accessibility allies, designing learning that proactively meets the needs of the full diversity of Tulane students.

This network of faculty connect once every month to discuss a particular aspect of accessibility. Focusing on what has worked, and what training you need to accomplish your instructional goal. We will also discuss a tool or strategy to ensure that your course is accessible to all your students.
